This condition, called peripheral vascular disease, is common among dialysis patients. However, treating this issue with major vascular surgery can be difficult and risky due to the patient's overall frailty and the severity of their vascular disease. Despite this, the problem hasn't been thoroughly studied or reported in medical research, so the best treatment options for long-term outcomes remain unclear.

East London has a large and growing number of dialysis patients, and the Royal London Hospital, which has one of Europe's largest dialysis centers, is analyzing the health records of these patients. By studying the data on those with peripheral vascular disease, doctors aim to better understand the risks, benefits, and outcomes, helping them determine the best treatment approaches for these patients in the future.

This will help us to create a risk stratification process and guide decision making regarding appropriate interventions for these patients.
