BHDP - A year in review

The BHDP Forum on 4th December 2025 brought together brilliant minds, passionate professionals, and forward-thinking leaders for a day packed with meaningful discussion and real momentum for change. From the moment the room filled, there was a sense of purpose, a shared commitment to improving the way we work, deliver services and support our communities.

A Focus on Progress and Practical Solutions
The forum opened with updates on key milestones and new features, shining a light on how much the platform has grown. Attendees were able to see the progress being made, the challenges still to tackle, and the genuine impact the work is beginning to have across teams.

Technical Aspects of the Platform – Ben Eaton
Ben’s presentation provided a clear and accessible look at how the BHDP platform operates behind the scenes. He highlighted the scale of the data we manage (including millions of patient records and clinical documents) and how the platform handles more than 2 million new data points every single day. He kept the focus practical, explaining how the system processes and tidies this information, maintains quality, and ensures teams can access the right data quickly and confidently. It was a simple, engaging overview that helped demystify the technical foundation supporting the rest of the programme.

Collaboration at the Heart of Everything
A strong theme throughout the forum was collaboration. Whether it was clinical teams, digital colleagues, or operational leads, everyone had space to share ideas and experiences. The breakout discussions created a lively atmosphere, with honest conversations about challenges and fresh thinking on how to improve processes and outcomes.

Innovation That Works for People
The day also highlighted several case studies and tools that are making a real difference on the ground. From predictive modelling to patient cohorting, there was a clear focus on solutions that genuinely support staff and improve care pathways, rather than innovation for innovation’s sake.

Supporting the Use of Data
Another key session centred around information governance, reinforcing how essential safe, ethical, and well-supported data usage is to the wider programme. It emphasised that strong governance is not a barrier — it’s an enabler that allows teams to use data confidently and responsibly.

Looking Ahead
The forum closed with a look at what’s coming next: future developments, planned enhancements, and the upcoming priorities for the BHDP programme. It ended with a renewed sense of energy, clarity, and shared momentum.  If the energy and engagement throughout the day are anything to go by, the year ahead promises even more progress.
