Bringing East London's Voice to Our Visual Identity: A Community Focus Group Journey
We recently held an exciting series of focus group sessions with members of our local East London community, diving deep into the heart of our visual identity and precision medicine platform. These engaging gatherings proved to be both fun and insightful, offering us valuable perspectives from the very people we aim to serve.
Over the course of two sessions, our public contributors shared their honest thoughts and creative suggestions, helping us shape our visual identity in ways that truly resonate with the community. Our PPIE engagement and communications manager presented multiple visual identity concepts, sparking lively discussions about the psychology of colours and how each design made participants feel.
We explored whether the proposed identities accurately represented our goals and values, with participants offering candid feedback that led to meaningful changes in our approach. The open dialogue allowed us to tap into the rich diversity of East London, ensuring our visual identity speaks to the vibrancy of our local community.
As a result of these productive sessions, we shortlisted three visual identity options that truly captured the essence of our mission and resonated with our community. These finalists were then presented to our internal stakeholders for the ultimate decision.
The entire process underscored the immense value of community participation in shaping our identity and direction. By actively involving East Londoners in our decision-making process, we've taken a significant step towards creating a visual identity that not only represents our goals but also reflects the community we serve.
